About Guayaquil

Located in the Pacific coast of Ecuador, Guayaquil is the most populated city in the country with almost 3 million inhabitants. It is a financial heart to Ecuador, a place where 75% of imports and exports are distributed through the port of the city.

The city has been awarded multiple times as a leading destination in South America by the World Travel Awards; the most recent were South America´s Leading City Break Destination 2022 and South America's Leading Meetings & Conference Destination 2022.

The hot spots that you must visit are located in the old area where the city was first settled:

Malecón 2000

Is 2.5 pier by the Guayas river which offers one of the best views of the city. Throughout the pier you will find the Ferris Wheel, museums, an IMAX theather, food courts and a wonderful food marketplace which gathers an offer of traditional dishes made with the best ingredients that characterize our roots and the influence we have received from migration.

Las Peñas

Is an emblematic neighborhood recognized for its colonial architecture and the place where the city was born. In 1982 it was declared as a National Heritage.

Metropolitan Cathedral

With a neogothic style, the cathedral was first built in 1547 in wood and rebuilt in concrete by 1924. The main attractions are the two magnificent neogothic towers.

Parque Seminario o Parque de las Iguanas

More than 300 iguanas welcome the visitants in this emblematic place which was in the colonial time known as one of the main fortress of the city. In the middle of the park is located a monument of the liberator Simón Bolívar.

If you are looking for some nightlife, we highly recommend to visit Puerto Santa Ana or La Vista San Eduardo, two spots with restaurants and bars.

Guayaquil´s people are warm-hearted, always ready to help and spontaneous. Do not hesitate asking our organization if you need information about the city.
